La 78ª edición de los Premios Emmy se celebró este 14 de septiembre de 2026 desde el Peacock Theater en Los Ángeles. La noche estuvo marcada por el dominio absoluto de Widow’s Bay, que sumó 14 premios en total, y por el histórico doble triunfo de Matthew Rhys, primer hombre en ganar Mejor Actor en Drama y en Comedia el mismo año.
Widow’s Bay y The Pitt dominan la noche
Widow’s Bay llegó con ocho premios ya asegurados de los Creative Arts Emmys y sumó cuatro más en la gala principal, incluyendo Mejor Serie de Comedia, Mejor Actor de Comedia para Matthew Rhys, Mejor Actriz de Reparto para Kate O’Flynn, Mejor Actor de Reparto para Stephen Root, Mejor Guion para Katie Dippold y Mejor Dirección para Hiro Murai, convirtiéndose en la producción más premiada de la noche. Por su parte, The Pitt se llevó Mejor Serie de Drama y Mejor Actor de Drama para Noah Wyle, quien repitió el triunfo del año anterior.
Rhea Seehorn ganó su primer Emmy a Mejor Actriz de Drama por Pluribus, mientras que Jean Smart hizo historia con su quinto Emmy consecutivo a Mejor Actriz de Comedia por Hacks.
